Eversource crews continue repairs to restore power to customers

Storms knocked out power to thousands across Williamsburg and the peninsula on Friday night

Crews from Eversource have been working around the clock to restore power to customers who lost it during Friday night's storms.

As of Saturday morning, more than 800 line, tree, and service crews were working to make repairs.

In Hampton, crews were able to restore power to the Riverdale neighborhood on Saturday.

A Dominion spokesperson said that at one point, storms knocked out power to about 28,000 customers across Williamsburg and the peninsula.

Tropical Storm Debby is expected to make landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida on Sunday night.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay informed and be prepared for power outages.
